Revival City Church has two Co-Lead Pastors:
Nate Platto and Steven Link
We are a Biblically-grounded,
Spiritually empowered church
that is for E V E R Y O N E !
We are the Plattos and the Links.
Together, we playfully call ourselves PLINKS!
We have been doing ministry together since 2016, and have a combined 35+ years of vocational experience between us. We are passionate followers of Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, and ready to make the Father's love and glory known to the city of Athens and to the ends of the earth. We are excited to take this radical step of obedience, and hope that you will become a joyful partner with us in this journey!
MEET OUR CO-LEAD PASTORS
NATE PLATTO
Co-Lead Pastor
Nate considers it a blessing to have been able to comprehend his need for Jesus at a young age. He knew that the Lord was calling him into vocational ministry when he was still in high school; and his ministry experience has led him all over the world--from pastoral positions in Louisianna, Mississippi, and Georgia to being a missionary in East Africa. It is a verified fact that Nate's love language is theological conversations. He also enjoys spending time with his family, playing any sport or game, singing out loud, and Georgia sports.
The things Nate loves most about Lindsey are her extremely high gifts of love, patience, mercy, discernment, teaching, and spiritual maturity. She is an excellent mother, spouse, and helpmate. Nate and Lindsey enjoy playing board games together, and having deep conversations that last WAY too long into the night. Lindsey is an alumni from UGA.
STEVEN LINK
Co-Lead Pastor
Ever since Steven first encountered God at the age of 19 (in his tights and tunic at Medieval Times while serving tables) he has been consumed with love for Jesus, the church, and those who are far from God. Steven’s passion for Jesus has led to a life of making disciples, empowering others, and partnering with God daily to be a blessing. In his spare time, you can find Steven enjoying time with family, competing in some type of sport with friends, or building something with his hands.
Steven and his wife Kristin are best friends. Steven met Kristin while she was a wench at Medieval Times – the two worked as servers together. Steven has always been drawn to Kristin’s gift of faith and her radical love for God & others. They adopted their beautiful baby boy, Aaro Isaiah Link from India, and are currently in the adoption process again. Steven and Kristin love doing ministry, traveling, and being parents together.

OUR STORY
2019
The Links and Plattos asked the Lord where He wanted us to plant this church He was calling us to start. With open hands to go anywhere in the world, we individually went our separate ways to seek God's direction. Two weeks later, each of us independently came back with exactly one city on our hearts...ATHENS, GEORGIA!

FAQ
Below are some general FAQs, but if you have a question that you cannot find the answer to, please email us at revivalcityathens@gmail.com

Will there be a ministry for children and students at the church?
Yes. We are dedicated not only to pouring into the children of Revival City Church, but also into teaching their parents how to guide and shepherd them well. The Family Ministry is called S.E.E.D. (Sons and daughters Experiencing, Enjoying, and Displaying God's love and glory). They will not merely be babysat, they will be taught a solid Biblical foundation, and how to do ministry! There's no such thing as a Jr. Holy Spirit!
What roles do Nate and Steven have at the church?
Nate and Steven serve as Co-Lead Pastors, and the first two elders of Phoenix Athens. While they equal in title, they each have their own "lanes" of ministry in which they are individually final decision makers. Decisions that impact the entire church are made together as they bring such decisions before the true Head of the church--Jesus. A multiplicity of leadership is both a Biblical and beneficial church leadership structure that Nate and Steven have spent a great deal of time researching and speaking with friends and mentors who utilize it in churches small and large, old and new. Each of them mention that they would never go back to all the decisions and pressures and expectations sitting on just one person. It is a model that is healthy for the church, the pastors, and their families.

What kind of church is Revival City Church?
We know what you're probably asking when you say that (and the answer is non-denominational), but we are quick to tell you that we are a Biblically-grounded, Spiritually empowered church that's for everyone!

What should I wear?
We aren't sticklers on what people wear, we just ask that you wear something! If you feel comfortable in a t-shirt and shorts, or if you prefer to wear a 3-piece suit, come as you are! The most important part about how you come is the condition of your heart... What you wear doesn't make you any better or worse than those around you! By the way, even if you aren't "feeling it" in your heart, come anyways-- we promise you won't leave the same!

Where should I park?
When you arrive at Revival City Church, there should be a parking team ready to help you, along with a few of our parking signs! We have lots of parking on site.

What do you have for children?
Children ages:
-
infant through Pre-K will be checked in as soon as you arrive, and they will stay in our Nursery Room. We have a team of volunteers who will be eagerly awaiting their arrival! (Note: All volunteers in our children's ministry areas have undergone a background check).
-
Kindergarten through 5th grade will be checked in as soon as you arrive, but they will join you for the first portion of our worship service. There will be a time during the service where they will follow our volunteers back to the SEED ministry room. (You are more than welcome to help escort them if need be)
-
6th through 12th grade will stay in the worship service the entire time. Youth gatherings happen Thursday nights at 6:30PM
What is the monthly Family Worship?
On the first Sunday of each month, we will have a Family Worship where children ages 1st grade through 5th grade will remain in the worship service for the entire service. Parents are free to keep their Kindergarteners in the service as well, or check them in to one of the SEED rooms in operation that day. If you have a 1st or 2nd grader that doesn't sit particularly well, they are welcome to go back to a SEED room when the preaching/teaching portion of the service begins. You will need to escort them yourselves and check them in.
